  1. Hi Gary, just wanted to say your refit is absolutely gorgeous. And just as important, functional - perhaps therein lies the true beauty. I just bought a 1982 25D (hull # 27) and have been thinking a lot about how to increase storage so I am just drooling over your pictures. I don't know if you'll see this but if you do I was just wondering whether that's teak plywood in the galley, salon, and head cabinets you added, or something else. Also did you do all the designing yourself, or did you find the plans somewhere? And last thing, is all your interior wood varnished, or is some of it just oiled? (I can probably guess the answer to that one, but just double checking :) It looks beautiful, thanks for the inspiration. Best, Rachel

    1. Hi rachel, didn't think anyone ever looked at this blog. Congrats on the new '82' CD 25D. You are going to love that little boat..( My girlfriend says I should have named mine 'The Other Woman'. Anyway to answer your questions...I used 1/2" cherry veneer plywood for all the cabinet doors and the frames are solid black cherry. All the interior wood is varnished except the wood around the cabin door and the stair treads into the cabin. All the design work I did myself. I just thought cabinets were a better idea than shelves ( more storage ) and the steps opened up the sink for better use. also under the sink in the head is such a wasted space...and the fold up counter top next to the stove gave more counter space. I also built a folding table that I don't think there is a picture of. Anyway hope that answered all of your questions and I would love to see any upgrades you make to your CD 25d. Good luck rachel

    2. Oh,Rachel, one more thing, if you would decide to build cabinets, what I did is after I took all the measurements I made a cardboard mock up of the face and sides of the cabinents to make sure of a good fit before cutting the wood...easier to make another one out of cardboard if it doesn't fit just right ...
